There is a growing interest to introduce split-ductless air conditioning systems into an office building both for realizing energy saving and comfort to office workers. Building energy management systems (BEMS) are expected to establish sophisticated controlling methods for the split-ductless air conditioning system. For creating the methods, simulators for thermal environment in a building are required. However, existing simulators necessitate a building information model (BIM) and huge amount of data for parameter tuning. Moreover, the existing simulators have difficulties to express spatial and temporal dynamics in each space in a building. The spatial and temporal dynamics in a space are indispensable for creating methods for controlling split-ductless air conditioning systems, because the systems independently manage devices dispersed in a room. A thermal environment simulator with multi-agent-based simulation (MAS) technique was proposed in the paper. The simulator can work without BIM and visualize spatial and temporal dynamics with limited numbers of parameters, which are easily obtained from BEMS. The simulator with MAS was implemented and applied to a field test in winter and summer seasons. As a result, high precision for reproducing spatial and temporal thermal dynamics was confirmed through the field test.

In this paper, fundamental issues in legacy risk trainings were discussed on data obtained through experiments by a tool with eye tracking and motion sensors for totally 22 field overseers. Then, risk training tool on experts’ structured risk knowledge with VR technologies was proposed on the discussion. Capability of the proposed tool was evaluated through risk trainings for 3 field overseers in detail. As a result, we confirmed that the tool succeeded in obtaining structured knowledge for risk perception and management, and the tool also contributed to build meta-knowledge (procedural knowledge) besides domain knowledge both for novices and experts.

The purpose of the study is to support test case design by introducing natural language processing techniques and reasoning schemes for designing. Sentences containing a logical relationship of implication (key sentences) are extracted from a specification document with natural language processing techniques, and supplementary explanation sentences for the key sentence (subordinate sentences) that complement parameters appeared in the key sentence are placed in Toulmin's reasoning scheme based on similarity to the key sentence. As a result, we succeeded in automatically generating test cases for product testing, and also in supporting to extract parameters for each test case.

システム開発の最終段階に実施されるシステムテストケースの設計では，自然言語で書かれた仕様書からテストに必要な入力項目や確認項目を抽出し，抽出した入力項目・確認項目のパラメータを具体化してテストケースが作成される．一方，自然言語で書かれる仕様書は論理関係に曖昧さを含むため，左記の仕様書をもとに作成されるテストケースは，テスト設計者の論理関係の解釈誤りによって不適当になることがあるという課題がある．本研究では，日本語の仕様書から命題論理の記号を用いることで論理関係の曖昧さを排した，セミ形式記述と呼ぶ表現へ変換するアルゴリズムを開発した．セミ形式記述の仕様を対象に入力・確認項目間の論理関係をレビューすることで正しい論理関係へ修正する．論理関係を修正したセミ形式記述は，本研究で開発したテストケース生成アルゴリズムにより，自動的にデシジョンテーブル形式のテストケースへと変換される．本研究で開発したアルゴリズムを電気ポットの仕様文に適用した．提案アルゴリズムにより日本語の仕様文の曖昧さを排除したセミ形式記述へと変換されること，セミ形式記述から自動的にデシジョンテーブルが生成されることを確認した．

In the development of the IoT systems, because it is necessary to test in various combinations, it takes much cost and time to execute tests for each combination and to analyze failures. In this paper, we have proposed a testing environment of the IoT systems to solve this issue. The proposed testing environment enables the IoT systems to work on the PC using the emulation technologies and testers can easily monitor inputs and outputs of each IoT device. The environment also automates combination tests and facilitates to manage the files for the automated test by managing functions to be tested and configurations to be tested separately. We have developed a prototype of the proposed testing environment for an air conditioning IoT system and verified that the environment had reduced the time to execute combination tests and to analyze failures.

Nowadays, most consumer products are equipped with methods of network communications, and nondeterministic tests, which are originated from random message exchanges via the network, should be carried out. Therefore, the tests of the consumer products with network have obliged us to consume much time to design and conduct. For reducing the labor of designing test cases, algorithms and tools, which help test engineers to convert specifications written in a natural language into semiformal descriptions, and to generate test cases including deterministic and nondeterministic test cases as decision tables, are proposed in the paper. The algorithms and tools were applied to a tiny example for evaluation and confirmed that they have succeeded in generating test cases from documents in a natural language.

Network embedded systems including Internet of Things (IoT) systems oblige developers to conduct frequent tests for various configurations, which require a significant amount of time and money. Moreover, the tests might not be performed due to the impossibility to acquire target devices produced by other factories or manufacturers. We propose a testing environment on a computer composed of target device emulators, and a repository of system configurations and test cases. Therefore, the environment performs tests for various configurations automatically and drastically improves the test efficiency.

A tool for promoting verbalization of latent field overseers’ knowledge for risk recognition with eyes and an algorithm for visualizing logic structure in risk knowledge as propositional network are proposed in the paper. The tool was applied to eliciting risk knowledge from actual field overseers and the algorithm was also applied to visualizing logical structures of risk knowledge included in their utterances. As a result, we find out noticeable structure in experts’ knowledge for risk recognition and significant differences between risk knowledge used by the field overseers and knowledge described in work procedure manual.

However, the use of these techniques still remain restrictive, due to their redundancies. Most engineers fulfill their activities with natural languages, the specifications described in a natural language are indispensable. For applying the formal method, the specifications in natural language should be translated into a formal language expressly. While, the specifications in the formal language should be re-translated once again in the natural language for execution tests using actual software and/or product. Those redundancies are reasons why the formal methods cannot penetrate into actual industries. To solve these redundancies, algorithms for converting sentences in specification documents into semi-formal descriptions automatically, and visualizing logical relations among semiformal descriptions are proposed in the paper.

There is a growing interest to introduce energy saving algorithms, which balance energy efficiency with residents' comfortability, into building energy management system (BEMS). However, the following issues hinder development of the algorithm: no-existence of tool chains for creating and validating the algorithm for engineers, and difficulties for implementing the algorithm as software in legacy BEMS due to lack of expansibility of the architecture.In the paper, we proposed a system architecture on micro-services concept, which produces flexibility for expanding new functions in BEMS, and well-designed service modules, which realizes tool chains for developing energy saving algorithm. The architecture and the service modules were implemented and confirmed their usefulness by applying them to the field test.

© 2018 IEEE. A hybrid testing environment of execution testing and model checking is proposed against difficulty of regression test for consumer products on product line approach. On the environment, we can execute black/white box and deterministic/non-deterministic tests on same test case with several inspection conditions described in LTL (Linear Temporal Logic) automatically. The test environment was implemented and applied to the regression tests for a component in HVAC systems. As the results of the examination, we were succeeded in detecting faults, which we could not detect through the legacy testing processes and environment.

© 2019 IEEE. Design method for EMC in consumer products still remains in trial and error approaches. Most EMC engineers try to reduce noise emission from the product heuristically just on the noise emission data measured in an anechoic chamber. In this study, an EMC design support tool, which visualized noise distribution directly on the product through AR glasses, and realized the subtraction method of simulating and estimating on the tool, was developed. The tool was applied to the EMC design for television sets. As the results of the application, we confirmed that the tool provided intuitive understanding of noise distribution, and helped the EMC engineers create solutions and implement them effectively in their usual way on the tool.

© 2019 IEEE. The Internet of Things (IoT) systems obliged us frequent validation whenever configurations of the system are changed. The validation also includes a huge number of regression tests. We propose a hybrid testing environment between execution testing and model checking to support the regression tests in the IoT system. The testing environment is composed of emulators for software under test and a test case execution unit with a model checker. As a result, a huge number of regression tests are conducted automatically in all possible execution orders by executing the software under test on the emulator in the environment.

Developing a method to handle tradeoffs and conflicts becomes a breakthrough to acquire significant requirements which are difficult to elicit for requirements analysts. In this paper, the Extended Goal Graph (EGG) is proposed as a method for handling tradeoffs and conflicts by providing traceability between requirements analysis and system design. We developed the EGG system to support requirement definition process with the EGG. The system was applied to the requirement definition meeting among medical doctors and potential patients for selecting proper inspections required for diagnosing disease when shadows on lungs were found.

© 2019 by the authors. In this study, methods for predicting energy demand on hourly consumption data are established for realizing an energy management system for buildings. The methods consist of an energy prediction algorithm that automatically separates the datasets to partitions (gate) and creates a linear regression model (local expert) for each partition on the heterogeneous mixture modeling, and an extended goal graph that extracts candidates of variables both for data partitioning and for linear regression for the energy prediction algorithm. These methods were implemented as tools and applied to create the energy prediction model on two years' hourly consumption data for a building. We validated the methods by comparing accuracies with those of different machine learning algorithms applied to the same datasets.

At the first step, risk recognition knowledge required for the field overseers were elicited from a work procedures manual and from field overseers. Since the knowledge for risk recognition is regarded as a kind of tacit dimension of knowledge, it is difficult for the field overseers to verbalize them. A tool for promoting verbalization of the latent field overseers' knowledge with the VR technologies, and an algorithm for structuring knowledge as propositional network were developed in the study. We elicited the risk recognition knowledge from 10 filed overseers in a construction company with the tool and structured the risk recognition knowledge with the algorithm based on the field overseers' utterances. The risk recognition knowledge described in the work procedures manual was also structured with the algorithm, for compensating the knowledge required for the training tool. As the results, the differences between risk recognition knowledge described in the work procedure manual and that used in the real field are clarified. The knowledge described in the manual is mainly focused on direct causal relationship leading the immediate risk, which directly inflicts harm on workers. On the other hand, the knowledge elicited from the field overseers' utterances is included indirect knowledge used to increase probability of the immediate risk.

We have developed a tool for extracting risk field overseers' recognition knowledge with an eye tracking sensor and a motion sensor, and an algorithm for structuring knowledge from their utterances as propositional network. We applied the tool on risk recognition training for 12 field overseers, including experts and novices, in a construction company and collected data for their eyes and utterances during the training. Typical experts' process for perceiving risk scenario from each scene (Meta knowledge) and individual pieces of risk knowledge including each risk scenario (Domain knowledge) were elicited on the data with the algorithm. As the results of these, we confirmed that the eyes promote verbalizing field overseers' knowledge for risk recognition and the propositional network helps structuring their domain and meta knowledge for risk recognition.

<p>近年、オープンなプラットフォーム上で、複数機器が互いにメッセージ交換を行いながら協調動作を行うInternet of Things (IoT)機器の開発が行われている。IoT機器間のメッセージ交換順序は非決定的であるために、開発者は複数種類のメッセージを組み合わせて、網羅的な順序のメッセージ交換をテストする。このテストは現状テスタによる手作業で実施されるので、p1) テストするメッセージ交換順序の網羅ミス p2) 評価項目の評価の見落とし が起こるという課題があった。 本課題解決のために、実機及びエミュレータ上のソフトウェアと通信可能なモデル検査器を備えるテスト実行環境を開発した。本テスト実行環境によって自動的な網羅評価を行うことでp1)を防ぐ。また、評価項目の記述にはLinear Temporal Logic (LTL)という論理式を用い、複数の評価項目をAndで結合することで一度で評価可能な評価項目とし、本テスト実行環境で自動評価することでp2)の解決を図った。 開発したテスト実行環境を不具合事例3件に適用したところ、誤りなく不具合の検出が可能であることを確認した。</p>

The existing risk recognition training is usually conducted on an illustration including explicit risks. However, it is difficult to express dynamic scenarios and surroundings of the scene due to the still illustration. In this study, a video based risk recognition training tool with an eye tracking device has been developed. We applied the tool to discover differences of attentions between veterans and we found out that veterans to do risk recognition based on meta-knowledge (risk recognition process) and domain-knowledge (individual knowledge of construction work).

Therefore, we developed a system of experimental evaluation of a fast demand response (fast DR) for small-scale buildings. Using this system, we confirmed that it is possible to achieve more than 10% reduction in energy consumption by controlling the air conditioning. In this paper, we describe outline of the fast DR system and discuss the result of evaluation.

The prognostics systems are required for avoiding unexpected breakdowns in the vehicles. As an initial practice for realizing the prognostics system, a fault progress model to unexpected breakdowns was built on correlations among cautions/warnings from sensors within telematics data in this study. An analysis tool was developed for constructing the model, and the model extracted from the tool was evaluated its validity through reviews by engineers in a vehicle manufacturer with different specialties.

In system testing for CPS, many tests are difficult to design or implement because of these systems' many product variations. The proposed environment executes the tests and guarantees that these systems operate reliably using two methods. The first method provides easy management of test cases by managing functions to be tested and configurations to be tested separately. The second method involves automatic testing of real devices based on model checking technologies. The authors have developed a horizontal prototype of the proposed environment and confirmed its feasibility and applicability.

Published by Elsevier B.V.Requirements for a system are often discovered during negotiation process for conflicts among stakeholders, rather than at the time when stakeholders are thinking about their own requirements uncritically in a requirements meeting. Conflicts could be utilized as a driving force to discover significant functional and/or non-functional requirements for the system, by handling conflicts in the requirements meeting appropriately. In this paper, we propose a support tool for discovering conflicts, called as an extended goal graph. We implemented a prototype of the tool and constructed an environment for analyzing requirements meeting. The prototype and the environment were applied to a requirements meeting on improvement of selling area in drugstore. Issues and solutions for practical use of the tool are discussed on the results of feasibility test.

This paper describes an attempt for establishing an intelligent home energy management algorithm, which can response to residents' life pattern. A long-term data collection system has been constructed to confirm feasibility of the algorithm. Capability of energy demand prediction on the life events and feasibility of energy management by handling life events are discussed on the field data.

In this paper, a testing environment for embedded systems developed in software product lines is proposed. In software product lines, various kinds of device are produced from the same resources and there are many product variations of the systems. The proposed testing environment includes the following three functions that help testers to validate each variation to guarantee the reliable operation of the systems. The first is the communications simulator, which allows actual devices to communicate with virtual devices operating on circuit board emulators. The simulator enables testers to construct a test system efficiently because they can change opposing devices' kind or number easily on a PC. The second function constitutes widgets that imitate the input-output elements on a circuit board. This allows the training time in operating the proposed testing environment to be reduced and facilitates its introduction to the development site. The third function allows the operating status of the circuit board emulators to be set, thus enabling testers to edit the contents of the memory emulators and validate each operating status of the system easily. We evaluated the proposed environment in a comparative trial with a conventional testing environment consisting only of actual devices in a system to confirm its efficiency and comprehensibility. The proposed environment achieved a 57% improvement in the testers' operating time and correct test results, without the environment being explained to the testers in detail.

Requirements for a system are often discovered during negotiation process, at the time when stakeholders of the system are thinking over their premises or backgrounds behind other stakeholders' requirements, rather than at the time when stakeholders thinking about their own requirements. Disagreements and conflicts between stakeholders are utilized as a driver to discover requirements for the system. In this paper, we propose a support tool for discovering conflicts among stakeholders, called an extended goal graph. We implemented a prototype of the tool and applied the prototype to a requirements meeting to confirm feasibility for discovering conflicts.

© 2014 IEEE.A design of cyber physical system is one of the promising domains, where the market of data is expected to penetrate. However, there are risks that any design hypotheses might be supported with data sets in the market, when engineers focus on a particular part of the data intentionally or accidentally. Because, the data sets, especially big data, include diverse kinds of variables to mislead reasoning of the design hypotheses. The validity could not be estimated by the data themselves but could be confirmed only by robustness of the logic behind the design argumentation. In this paper, we propose a system design method with data sets in the market and apply the proposed method to design process for a diagnosis system for semiconductor equipment.

In this paper，an acoustic diagnosis method for vacuum pump is described. There is an essential requirement that the vacuum pumps equipped in a semiconductor plant，should keep running twenty-four seven without troubles. A periodical maintenance，where the worm seals of the pump are exchanged for new ones，is a popular method to satisfy the requiremen. However，abrasion speed of the pump has huge differences among individuals. More sophisticated diagnosis method should be replaced for the periodical maintenance to optimize the period of the maintenance and reduce the maintenance cost. The acoustic diagnosis method for seals' abrasion has been developed to utilize sound of refrigerant leakage of the pump as an indirect index of seals' abrasion. A prototype of diagnosis tool has been implemented and evaluated both in a laboratory and in a semiconductor factory over six months. Capability for a field diagnosis tool is confirmed through the field tests.

システム開発の最終工程では品質を担保するためにシステム試験が実施される．システム試験には，テスト仕様書が必要であるが，テスト仕様書は，テスト設計者が自然言語で記述された仕様書を熟読し，記載された各文から，“テスト条件（パラメータを含む）⇒期待値”のタプルを抽出することで生成される．上記の抽出作業は人手で行われ，かつ，自然言語で記述された仕様書には，誤りや曖昧さが含まれるため，その修正・確認のため膨大な工数を必要とし，筆者らの調査によれば，600ページの仕様書で約700時間が必要となっていた．
上記課題を解決するために，本研究では仕様書記載の各文を形式的な記述へ変換することで，自然言語で記述された仕様書内に発生する誤りや曖昧さの補完を促したのちに，各文の構造を視覚的に表現するために“条件⇒期待値”の論理包含関係を基準としてパラグラフ内構成文の論理構造の可視化ツールの開発を行った．

<p>近年、オープンなプラットフォーム上で、複数機器が互いにメッセージ交換を行いながら協調動作を行うInternet of Things (IoT)機器の開発が行われている。IoT機器間のメッセージ交換順序は非決定的であるために、開発者は複数種類のメッセージを組み合わせて、網羅的な順序のメッセージ交換をテストする。このテストは現状テスタによる手作業で実施されるので、p1) テストするメッセージ交換順序の網羅ミス p2) 評価項目の評価の見落とし が起こるという課題があった。 本課題解決のために、実機及びエミュレータ上のソフトウェアと通信可能なモデル検査器を備えるテスト実行環境を開発した。本テスト実行環境によって自動的な網羅評価を行うことでp1)を防ぐ。また、評価項目の記述にはLinear Temporal Logic (LTL)という論理式を用い、複数の評価項目をAndで結合することで一度で評価可能な評価項目とし、本テスト実行環境で自動評価することでp2)の解決を図った。 開発したテスト実行環境を不具合事例3件に適用したところ、誤りなく不具合の検出が可能であることを確認した。</p>

本論文では、ゲームストーミングを支援するツールを提案する。支援ツールは、通常のカラー画像と深度画像を撮像する機能を備えたビジョンセンサとLEDプロジェクタから構成される。ゲームボード上の付箋や手指による操作を検出することで、ゲームストーミングの際の思考過程支援、およびゲーム試行結果の分析支援機能を実現する。本研究では、本コンセプトに基づくゲームストーミング支援ツールのプロトタイプを作成し、支援環境の原理的な実現性をディスカッションする。

オープンソースソフトウェアを用いたソフトウェア開発では，導入するオープンソースソフトウェアと独自開発部分のソフトウェアとの間に問題が発生しないかを調査するためにオープンソースソフトウェアのソースコードを読み解かなければならないことがある．しかし，開発者にとってそのオープンソースソフトウェアがどのように実装されているのかは未知であることがあり，そのような未知のソースコードの処理の構造を理解することは容易ではない．本研究では，ソースコード中のメソッドの構造や，クラス間の参照関係を可視化することで，ソースコードの処理の構造の理解や影響関係の発見を支援するツールの開発を行った．In the case of software development on open source software, developers should read source code of the open source software and understand structure of the open source software in order to check whether there isn't any defect between the open source software and own developed software. However, it is not easy work for developers because the developers don't know how the open source software is implemented. This paper describes a tool for support of understanding structure of source code and relationship of dependency among open source software and own developed software by visualizing structure of a method in source code and relationship among classes which reference other classes or are referenced by other classes.
