水道水温は、給湯設備設計における重要な入力条件である。しかし日本の水質検査項目には、水道水温は含まれていないため、水道局などでは水温が十分に測定されていない。そのため、水道水温を一定の精度で予測する必要がある。本研究では、給湯設備設計のための水道水温の推定法を策定した。水道局などで公開されている浄水場の浄水温の調査法をまとめ、日本全国の代表都市54 都市を調査対象として主な浄水場を選定し、その水道水温を推定する推定式を2 種類提案した。平均絶対誤差1°C以内を目指して分析を行ったが、54 都市中1都市を除いて、1°C以下または1°Cをわずかに上回る程度であった。また、浄水場の浄水温の調査結果から最低・最高水温をまとめた。

Influence of the moisture driving force of moisture adsorption and desorption on indoor hygrothermal environment and building thermal load 査読有り

To more accurately evaluate the indoor hygrothermal environment of a building, control the indoor temperature and humidity, evaluate the thermal comfort of occupants, and select the capacity of the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system, moisture transfer from and into architectural materials should be considered. However, the most widely used commercialized software ignores the moisture effect from envelopes or adopts a simplified model based on the difference in humidity ratios between hygroscopic materials and interior zone air. In this study, the effects of the driving forces of hygrothermal models were identified and quantified. The calculated results show that the indoor humidity changes differed when the moisture effect by moisture adsorption and desorption was considered in the models. Because the simplified effective moisture penetration depth (EMPD) model uses differences in the humidity ratio as a driving force, the calculated results of the indoor humidity ratio exhibit relatively constant tendencies. However, the thermodynamic chemical potential model corresponds to a detailed heat, air, and moisture transfer (HAM) model that uses the water potential as a driving force; this model can consider the moisture effect based on temperature and humidity changes. Therefore, the humidity ratios calculated using the detailed thermodynamic HAM model show differences of 0.01%–38.78%, and the difference in relative humidity between building materials and indoor air becomes smaller; these results are comparable to those of the simplified model. Finally, the adoption of a simplified model can result in differences in the sensible heat load of 4.4%–13.8% and latent heat load of 16.1%–51.2%. Thus, this study confirmed that a coupled HAM model, which uses the water potential as a driving force, can be employed to accurately simulate the hygrothermal behavior of building envelopes.

在室率や使用目的などにより一つの空間に負荷が異なるゾーンが混在する事務室を対象として，循環流を負荷処理を必要とするゾーンに留めることを目的として天井吊り下げパネルを提案する．加えて，パーティションの有無，天井吊り下げパネルの有無，空調機の吹出し角度を変化させて天井吊り下げパネルの空調負荷削減の性能評価をした．その結果，天井吊り下げパネルを設置するだけで循環流を留めることが可能で，空調機の仕事率を約14%向上することが確認できた．

Experimental studies and simulation analysis were conducted to assess the hygrothermal performance of intelligent roof systems, which perform passive dehumidification in summer and solar heat collection in winter by air circulation through the roof ventilation layer to reduce sensible and latent heat load using solar heat. A high-efficiency air conditioning system separating latent and sensible heat can be developed using fibrous insulation with excellent moisture conditioning properties. The thermodynamic-potential-based fundamental principle of the intelligent skin system, which performs passive dehumidification and solar collection, was explained based on non-equivalent thermodynamics. The performance characteristics of temperature and humidity fluctuations of the intelligent roof were experimentally and numerically demonstrated. This work enables the combined analysis of heat and moisture movement in the envelope system. The experimental and numerical simulation results indicate that significant sensible and latent heat reduction can be achieved by running the system using renewable energy.

Annual heating and hot water load reduction effect of air-based solar heating system using thermal simulation 査読有り

This study examines the effect of an air-based solar heating system that can be used directly for convection heating while minimizing thermal leakage. To compare the effect of reducing the heating and hot water load when using the system, a simulation model of the system is created, and annual load calculations are performed. The results of the simulation study show that the annual heating load is reduced by 5.39 GJ and the hot water load is reduced by 10.32 GJ when using the air-based solar heating system, resulting in a 48.3% annual load reduction effect. In addition, by analyzing the thermal balance of the indoor space based on the application of the air-based solar heating system, the problem of the existing system is elucidated. In order to improve the performance of the system as shown in the thermal balance, it is necessary not only to improve the performance of the collector, but also to review its thermal storage, insulation, and proper control.

In recent years, there has been a tendency to focus on high airtightness and the thermal insulation performance of houses for the purpose of the improvement of the indoor heat environment and reduction in the heating and cooling loads. However, the high airtightness and insulation performance increase the risk of intrusion into the inside of the wall, which causes interstitial condensation because the water vapor generated in the room cannot be discharged to the outside. In this study, we evaluate the anti-condensation performance of the walls using cellulose-fiber-based heat insulation (CF), which has a large moisture capacity and excellent moisture adsorption and desorption performance. The usefulness of CF is confirmed by clarifying the occurrence of internal condensation through measurement data analysis of a demonstration house, as well as numerical simulations.

A smart skin system is proposed for passive dehumidifieation in summer and solar heat collection in winter. To reduce the heat load, an efficient air conditioning system was developed in the roof ventilation layer that separates latent and sensible heat using fibrous insulation materials with moisture conditioning properties. The potential-based principle of this system is based on non-equivalent thermodynamics. Performance and thermal load reduction were demonstrated in a detached house using a heat, air, and moisture (HAM) simulation software called THERB for H A M . This system can reduce 80% of latent heat load in summer and 30% of sensible heat load in winter.

© 2016 by the authors. A desiccant air-conditioning system was developed as a latent-load-processing air conditioner in a dedicated outdoor air system during the summer. This study investigated the application of this air-conditioning system to humidification during the winter without using make-up water, thereby eliminating the cause of microbial contamination in air-conditioning systems. The experiments were conducted with a system used for summer applications to determine the feasibility of adsorbing vapor from outdoor air and supplying it to an indoor space. The humidification performance, energy efficiency, and operating conditions were examined. Although the conditions were subpar because the experiments were performed with an actual dedicated outdoor air system, the results showed that it is possible to supply air with a minimum humidity ratio of 5.8 g/kg dry air (DA) when the humidity ratio of outdoor air ranges from 1.8 to 2.3 g/kg DA. The minimum humidification performance required for a dedicated outdoor air system was achieved by increasing the airflow rate of the moisture-adsorption side to 2-3 times that of the humidification side. In addition, air leaking from the moisture-adsorption side to the humidification side, improving the mechanical structure, such as by the insulation of the moisture-adsorption side, and an efficient operating method were examined for humidification during the winter.

Condensation risk due to variations in airtightness and thermal insulation of an office building in warm and wet climate 査読有り

© 2016 by the authors. Condensation in a building encourages microbial growth, which can have an adverse effect on the health of occupants. Furthermore, it induces the deterioration of the building. To prevent problems caused by condensation, from the design step of a building, predictions of the spatial, temporal and causation for condensation occurrences are necessary. By using TRNSYS simulation coupled with TRNFLOW, condensation assessment of an entire office building in Tokyo, Japan, was conducted throughout the year, including when the air-conditioning system was not operated, by considering the absorption-desorption properties of the building materials and papers in the office and the airflow within the entire building. It was found that most of the condensation occurred during winter and was observed mainly in the non-air-conditioned core parts, especially the topmost floor. Additional analyses, which identified the effect of variations in the thermal insulation of the external walls, roof and windows and the airtightness of the windows on condensation, showed that the lower airtightness of windows resulted in decreased condensation risks, and condensation within the building was suppressed completely when the thermal insulation material thickness of the external walls was greater than 75 mm, that of the roof was greater than 105 mm and the windows had triple float glass.

However, the ventilation and energy requirements necessary to achieve good indoor air quality (IAQ) may interfere with one another. This paper presents the energy-saving potential of a ventilation system with an air-cleaning unit and demand control in a multi-residential building. This strategy is based on the demand to save energy in ventilation by reducing the supply of outdoor air using air cleaning while maintaining the desired air quality. Hence, the operation mode of the ventilation system in this study senses the indoor CO2 and HCHO concentrations according to the IAQ code for homes in Korea. The ventilation and air-cleaning modes are then operated independently or simultaneously to optimize the energy usage for ventilation. The simulation results indicate that, in maintaining the required IAQ level, the proposed ventilation system reduces the operation rate of the induction of outdoor air for slightly less than 50% of the operating time and decreases the energy use by approximately 20% with its air-cleaning and demand control mode compared to the conventional systems that employ a continuous ventilation mode.

A calibration method for whole-building airflow simulation in high-rise residential buildings 査読有り

The simulation results for airflow in high-rise buildings may not match actual behavior due to various airflow paths and impact factors, such as temperature, wind direction, wind velocity, and building characteristics (airtightness, layout, and others). When conducting whole-building airflow simulation for high-rise buildings, it is important to reasonably define uncertain input parameters in order to minimize the difference between measurement and simulation results. This study proposes a calibration method for airflow simulation modeling of high-rise buildings using the data-driven method and estimating uncertain input data through output data.The output data for comparing measured values with simulated values were focused on pressure distributions in buildings, because this value indicates the driving force of the airflows between building partitions and in the entire building. Based on the measured pressure distribution of the analyzed building, the unknown input parameters were deduced primarily using the Thermal Draft Coefficient (TDC). The uncertain input parameters (leakage area, flow coefficient, and exponent) were then optimized using Genetic Algorithm (GA). Through the processes suggested in this study, the uncertain input parameters for whole-building airflow simulation can be optimized, and the discrepancy between simulation results and measured values can be minimized. The advantage of this method is that the input parameters can be optimized for reasonable simulation modeling using limited measurement results in high-rise buildings.

The purpose of this study is to realize energy efficient features for a dedicated desiccant air-conditioning system throughout the season, and propose a new high-efficiency application of this system. Many advanced air-conditioning systems are intended to reduce energy and/or space only for sensitive heat conditioning. During the dehumidification season, the results show that a latent heat conditioning system using a desiccant air-conditioner achieves over 20% higher energy efficiency than conventional systems. A new humidification system that combines a desiccant outdoor air-conditioning unit and heat-pump is proposed for the winter season. The experimental results show that the humidification performance satisfies the minimum demand for an outdoor air conditioner in many areas of Japan, but the energy efficiency is slightly inferior to that of traditional boiler systems. Some improvements in the structure and operation of this system are suggested to improve the higher energy efficiency.

In this study, as the prerequisites for countermeasure of the dew condensation, in order to identify locations and frequency of dew condensation, the estimation of dew condensation on all wall and window in commercial buildings was conducted by TRNSYS simulation coupled with TRNFLOW. The airtightness and the thermal insulation property affect on dew condensation, accordingly the dew condensation risk evaluation with different airtightness and different thermal insulation property was performed. The dew condensation risk was calculated by using dew condensation risk evaluation index proposed by the authors in previous studies.

In this study, a desiccant outdoor air-conditioning system that uses high-temperature chilled water (approximately 20 °C) and low-temperature hot water (approximately 55 °C) produced by a high-efficiency heat pump, and hot air produced by solar heat collectors, was proposed. This system treats the total heat load of outdoor air and indoor latent heat load in commercial buildings. In the proposed system, solar heat is effectively used for regeneration of the desiccant in summer and for pre-heating of ventilation air in winter. We have constructed a prototype of this system and evaluated the coefficient of performance (COP) of the entire desiccant air-conditioning system using the measured values of electric energy consumption and treated enthalpy between the outdoor air and supply air.
