実際に病院内の医療データと組み合わせて，看護業務量や患者の予後を予測する試みや，介護施設において4ヶ月間センシングして行動認識を試みた結果、またこれらを介護・医療福祉の分野に普及させるためのスタートアップおよび人材育成の取り組みについても紹介する．

In this paper, we firstly introduce our work [9] where we proposed for recognizing whole day activities using prior knowledge, and applied the method for real nursing sensor dataset we have col- lected. Then, we introduce the method for predicting near future of nurses by integrating nurse activity data, location data, and medical records, based on our work[10]. For both works, we independently collected real and open nursing datasets with 2 weeks of accelerom- eters and training labels from 22 nurses for the former work, and nurse activity, location, medical payment, and nursing needs data from 35 nurses and 96 patients for 40 days for the latter work.

In this paper, we introduce a real nursing sensor dataset which includes labeled dataset for supervised machine learning and the big data combined with patient medical records and sensors attempted for 2 years, and also describe a method for recognizing activities for a whole day utilizing prior knowledge about the activity segments in a day and utilizing importance sampling and Bayesian estimation, based on our paper at UbiComp2015. Moreover, we demonstrate data mining by applying our method to the bigger data with additional hospital data. Our method of recognizing a whole day activities outperformed the traditional method without using the prior knowledge. Moreover, the method significantly reduces the duration errors of activity segments. We also demonstrate a data mining applying our method to bigger data in a hospital, and show several results about the correlations with nurse profiles and patients’ status.

In this talk, we talk the state of the art of pervasive sensing

technology and its applications, including understanding nursing

processes in hospitals, and helping households to recognize daily

activities related to energy consumption.

Recent deployment of light-weight sensors equipped with wireless

networking or embedded in smart phones made it possible to recognize

and understand the activities and contexts of the users. If we can

compile them in an understandable manner to the users, we can expect

various applications such as in healthcare and energy management

domains.

In this new horizon of technology, we introduce the state of the art

of the research, including utilization and improvement of machine

learning methods, such as being robust for labels with uncertain

segments, or utilizing periodical information for daily activities.

Moreover, we also introduce the activity of collecting and providing a

large-scale dataset for activity recognition, such as a mobile

accelerator open dataset with about 35,000 activity data from more

than 200 subjects, nurses' sensor data combined with 100 patients'

sensor data and medical records, and 34 households' light sensor data

set for 4 months combined with smart meter data.

Recent deployment of smart phones equipped with accelerometers will make it possible to recognize activities of the users. If human activity can be objectively measured, we can expect various applications. For example, lifestyle aspects can be quantified and used for prevention of lifestyle-related diseases. In that of agriculture, farmers can improve efficiency by automatically obtaining their own activity record. Moreover, in more domain specific application such as nursing management, nursing activity will be quantified and optimized for various type of process in hospitals.

In this new horizon of technology, we are facing challenges to realize mobile activity recognition. To realize mobile activity recognition, we need a wide variety of activity data with realistic settings. However, collecting such data from varieties of people is not easy, since it requires costs for managing data, time synchronization, and annotations of what kind of activities are done, to be utilized for (semi-) supervised machine learning.

In this talk, we talk the state of the art of mobile activity recognition, including collecting large-scale activity data using smart phone, challenges for realistic mobile activity recognition, and how to deal with the annotation problem. Moreover, we also introduce the research for large-scale nursing activity recognition with one-year nursing data, in which we tried to segment and annotate nursing activities from audio data and low-level activity recognition. We also address the healthcare application of mobile sensing to massive people in Bangladesh.

世界最速で少子高齢化社会が到来した日本において，労働生産性を確保し国力を維持するためには，精緻な健康医療情報を活用することが喫緊の課題となっている．本稿では，種々のセンシングおよび蓄積データ解析を用いて，人々に適切なタイミングで適切な健康医療情報を提供する，あるいは効率の良い医療サービスを実現するための実証研究を述べる．

１．センサネットワーク予防医療の研究

日常においてセンサにより情報を持続的に収集し，ストレスなくデータセンターへ送信する，というセンサネットワークを構築し，適切なタイミングで適切なアドバイスを患者にフィードバックするシステムがあれば，予防医療を高度化することが可能であると期待できる．

我々はまず，メタボリック症候を想定した被験者100 人規模での実証実験を行った．加速度による行動センサおよびBluetooth通信機能がついた体重計と血圧計からの情報を携帯情報端末に蓄積し，蓄積したデータを職場に構築したZigbee/Bluetooth変換器およびZigbee によるメッシュネットワークを介し，インターネットを通じて収集した．行動センサについては、携帯情報端末において行動の識別を行い，20秒毎の識別結果を収集した。

2週間の実験を行い充分な情報が取得できた83名のうち，75名で運動量が増加したことが確認できた．特に「歩行」や「立つ」といった行動が増加し，「エレベータ」の行動が減少していた．

次に，糖尿病患者を対象とした50名規模での実証実験を行った．行動センサを携帯し，据え置き型の体重，血圧計を家庭に設置し，計測データが自動的にサーバに送られるようにした．また血糖センサデータも携帯電話を用いて手動で収集した．4ヶ月間の実証期間のうち後半の2か月間，患者に対し，一日毎に，または即時にアドバイスを配信するシステムを用いた．

その結果，通院時だけでは把握できない３名の高血糖患者や1名の「逆白衣高血圧症」患者を発見でき，専門医療機関への連携や入院に結びついた．また，あまり歩かなかった日のアドバイス後には速歩や自転車の運動量が増え，がんばった日の後はそれらが減少してしまう，といったアドバイスに対する効果を定量的に知ることができた．

２．入院病棟による医療プロセスの効率化

現在我々は，入院病棟において多くのセンサデータを収集し，それらを解析して医療プロセスの改善に活用するための研究に取り組んでいる．済生会熊本病院心臓血管センターにおいて，心筋梗塞で入院した患者に対するデータ収集システムを構築し，心電図，血糖値，呼吸数，体動，心拍数，血圧といった生体情報に加えて，病室の騒音や照度，温湿度といった環境情報を100患者に対して同意を取った上で収集した．これらの生体・環境情報と医療記録から取得した患者の予後を比較分析することで，医療工程の効率化や改善を目指す．

近年は医療プロセスがクリニカルパスという概念で標準化されつつあり，このプロセスの記録とセンサデータの関連を調べることにより，入院期間を短くするための要因といったマイニングが可能となる．

この中で，看護師に加速度センサを付けてもらい，クリニカルパスに定義された41種類の行動識別を行うことで，どのようなケアが患者に対して行われたかを推定する手法も研究している．これまでに，いくつかのセンサから看護行動区間を高精度に推定する手法を開発した．

本実験はセンサデータを取得しやすい入院病棟において行ったが，将来的には，在宅医療や在宅介護において有用なケアを厳選するために活用することが期待できる．

３．途上国におけるポータブルクリニック実験

途上国においても簡便に取り扱える生体情報・健康情報モニタリングシステムを導入すべく，センサ機器および通信機器を持ち運びできるサイズにまとめ，バングラデシュの地方に持ち込み「ポータブルクリニック」実証実験を行っている．このシステムでは，生体情報・健康情報を現場スタッフが計測できるだけでなく，通信機器を用いてコールセンタに待機する医師の確認が可能であり，かつ必要時には簡便な遠隔医療相談ができるようなものである．パッケージに含めるものは，血圧計，血糖測定器，血中酸素濃度計，尿糖テープ，体重計，心電計，体温計，電子メジャーといった，市販の物でかつできるだけ標準の通信規格に沿った物を使い導入コストを下げながら，その多くにBAN(IEEE802.15.6)規格の無線通信モジュールを搭載する．

途上国における携帯電話の普及に伴い，医師を保有する病気相談コールセンタービジネスが既に始まっているが，本システムを加えることにより，客観性を持つデータを用いて解析結果を医師や患者にフィードバックするでき，正確性と効率性の両方を実現する予防医療が可能となる．

本講演では、人々の日常の行動を把握し、生活の場における情報支援を安全に効率良く行うための、センサ技術を用いた予防医療システムおよび、スマートフォンを用いた行動認識に関する動向を述べる。我々は、日常生活情報をセンサネットワークで把握し適切なヘルスケアサービスを実現することをめざし、これまでに 100 人規模のメタボリック症候群や糖尿病患者で実験を行い、効果を示した。現在、心臓病棟における半年以上のセンサデータを医療工程データと関連づけた解析に取り組んでいる。さらには、バングラデシュにおける一万人規模の予防医療実験を開始した。また、これらの活動から派生した課題として、スマートフォンを用いた人間行動認識の研究を行っており、人間行動センシングコンソーシアム HASC の活動にも大きく寄与した。講演では、これら一連のヘルスケアセンシングの話題と、スマートフォン行動認識の最新の話題を提供する。

Recent deployment of smart phones equipped with accelerometers will make it possible to recognize activities of the users. If human activity can be objectively measured, we can expect various applications. For example,

lifestyle aspects can be quantified and used for prevention of lifestyle-related diseases. In that of agriculture, farmers can improve efficiency by automatically obtaining their own activity record.

Moreover, in more domain specific application such as nursing management, nursing activity will be quantified and optimized for various type of process in hospitals.

However, existing work for activity recognition has the following problems. 1) it does not consider sequential activities, thereby the accuracy of recognition will decrease around the period of transferring one activity to another. 2) It only targets on simple types of activities. More complex activities, which are sometimes more abstracted or composed of simple activities, are not tried to be recognized.

In our research, we take the approach of dividing the activity recognition problem into: 1) firstly applying a segmentation method which outputs multi-level segments, and, 2) upon them, applying a traditional activity recognition method, adjusting the level of segmentation adaptively.

To confirm the validity of our approach. we pursued an experiment of gathering accelerometer data of real nursing in a hospital.

To collect activity data efficiently, we used a large-scale activity gathering system named ALKAN with smart phones.

We asked nurses working at a large hospital to place iPodTouches in to their breast pockets with a roughly fixed direction.

Large-scale nursing data were collected using ALKAN with either annotated rehearsal activities or real nursing actives, for 41 activity classes.

We have gathered 2808 activity instances with 1.9GB for the former, and 282 days by 24 hours with 17.4GB for the latter.

During the measurement of accelerometer data, we also recorded the sound by the same iPodTouches.

In this talk, we demonstrate several application of the method to automatically segment real nursing data, to help annotation with a suggestion from the history, and to improve activity recognition accuracy.

加速度センサを備えたスマートフォンのような携帯情報端末を用いて，人間の行動情報を大規模に集め活用するシステムについて述べた．我々は200台以上の端末を用いて約13ヶ月で35,000件以上の行動情報を集めた．本稿では，システムの設計理念および，集まった情報の性質や，機械学習による行動認識の結果を示した．示された結果は，大規模な行動情報に基づく行動認識には大きな研究課題が存在することを示唆している．
