Inclusion-exclusion integral neural network is an explainable network model using inclusion-exclusion integral defined by fuzzy measures and polynomial operations. Inclusion-exclusion integral neural networks increase the expressiveness of the network by specifying a large additivity, but the number of parameters increases exponentially, and the training time increases accordingly. This is one of the challenges. The objective of this research is to accelerate the learning of inclusion-exclusion integral neural networks by comparing the speed between CPU and GPU in terms of additivity and the number of data, and by applying acceleration methods in PyTorch.

Inclusion-Exclusion integral neural network is a network model that uses fuzzy measures, which are non-additive measures, and Inclusion-Exclusion integral, which are represented by polynomial operations. The model outputs of this network can be expressed in terms of Inclusion-Exclusion integral formula using the Möbius inversion formula, and the contribution of each feature to the prediction can be calculated using the Shapley values, which is one of the reward calculation methods used in the theory of cooperative games. This allows us to construct a network with interpretability for parameters after training. For this network, we interpret the model using the Shapley values and the Owen values, which is an extended version of the Shapley values when considering a particular coalition structure or division of the set of players. We will also examine model interpretation using SHAP values, where Shapley values are applied to machine learning to allow interpretation of the impact of features on prediction based on input-output relationships.

This paper proposes a new THL bearing design method based on an improved version of a precedent method. The precedent method used a model expression prepared in advance to easily and quickly find a crucial predicted data of the maximum bearing temperature. Three expressions were prepared for three different values of journal eccentricity ratio, 0.25, 0.50, and 0.75. Which one of the three should be used was determined, based on the preliminarily obtained value of journal eccentricity ratio derived from the initially analysis and t–test, for the crucial temperature for any value of journal eccentricity ratio. Furthermore, the new expression explicitly includes the four well-known dimensionless numbers used in THL analysis, that is, Sommerfeld number, bearing width-to-dimeter ratio, Peclet number and Khonsari number. The model expressions for other bearing characteristic performances were obtained in the same way. Compared with some measurements in test rigs of cylindrical bearings, the new improved method is confirmed to predict reasonably accurate bearing performances of cylindrical bearings faster and more easily than the precedent method over a wide range of operating conditions.

Furthermore, the new expression explicitly includes the four well-known dimensionless numbers used in THL analysis, that is, Sommerfeld number, bearing width-to-dimeter ratio, Peclet number and Khonsari number. The model expressions for other bearing characteristic performances were obtained in the same way. Compared with some measurements in test rigs of cylindrical bearings, the new improved method is confirmed to predict reasonably accurate bearing performances of cylindrical bearings faster and more easily than the precedent method over a wide range of operating conditions.

We consider several nonlinear integrals with respect to the monotone measures. We term the integrals defined by certain approximations via simple functions as decomposition type integrals. This category is classified based on the approximation directions (from above/below) and the disjointness of corresponding measurable set families (partition/covering). Furthermore, we add two classification points: finiteness of the summation (finite/countable) and sign of coefficients (non-negative/signed). This study aims to clarify the essential features of these integrals by considering several convergence theorems for each group of the decomposition type integrals.

In this paper, we propose a motion interpolation method using parameters based on adjectives. We conducted a questionnaire experiment in which subjects were asked to evaluate 10 example walking motions using 41 pairs of adjectives. Based on the results, 27 pairs of adjectives that are effective for motion parameterization were selected and four primary parameters were determined by categorizing the adjectives. Our motion interpolation method allows the user to create various styles of motions using the four primary parameters and any combination of the additional 27 adjective pairs. We also conducted a questionnaire experiment on another motion set of 27 walking motions and obtained the same four primary parameters and 29 adjective pairs. These results show that our method and the four primary parameters can be generalized for walking motions. In addition, our approach was applied to motion features that are computed example motions without any questionnaire experiment and obtained the primary and additional motion feature parameters for motion interpolation. This realizes motion interpolation using parameters based on motion features. The user of our system can choose adjective or motion feature parameters to create a motion depending on the type of motion that he or she wants to create. We present the results of our experiments and demonstrate the advantages of our method.

This paper discusses the relative rating method to check order relations onomatopoeias expressing pains. There already has been "Pair test", which is a frequently used relative rating method. Its precision is high, yet a burden on subjects is heavy. Therefore we suggested the new relative rating method that has light burden and named this method "Sorting test". Up to the present, many kinds of sorting algorithms have been invented. The Sorting test used "Quick sort", which is said to take the shortest time to sort among the sorting algorithms. So that, the Sorting test evaluates at a small comparison number of times. In addition, we suggested an idea to quantify order relations. The idea can quantify each experimental stimulus regardless of the number of experimental stimuli to compare. Therefore, the idea is able to adjust the number of experimental stimuli.

Suggested by Shepp [Ann. Math. Statist. 36(4) (1965), 1107-1112] we defined a sequence space Λp(f) determined by a single function f(≠ 0) ∈ Lp(R, dx), 1 ≤ p < +∞, and discussed the structure of it. The problems are the linearity and the visible sequential representation of Λp(f). In this paper we name Λp(f) a Shepp space and discuss the problems in the case of p = 2 by defining an inner approximation Λ02(f) and an outer approximation Λφ2(f) of Λ2(f), and we give a necessary and sufficient condition for Λ02(f) = Λφ2(f) in terms of doubling dimension. In this case Λ2(f) is a linear space and those approximationsare its visible sequential representations. We also give an example such that Λ2(f) is a linear space but Λ02(f) ≠ Λφ2(f).

The t-norms are significant operations useful for fuzzy theory. The domains of t-norms are usually the closed interval [ 0, 1 ] or general lattices L . Specific sets except [ 0, 1 ] are rarely used as domains of t-norms. In this article, two-dimensional t-norms defined on the closed unit square [ 0, 1 ] times [ 0, 1 ] and multi-dimensional t-norms are studied. Some examples of them are shown. Moreover the generating functions of them are studied.

We generalize Choquet Integrals with respect to two additive measure and using them approximate functionals defined on a finite set.We consider a product probability measure on the functional space,which actually is an Euclidian space. Then our approximations are some projection of the L2 space. Under this condition, we obtain that: the optimal approximation of a multi lenear Fuzzy integral is a multi lenar Fuzzy integral, and the optimal approximation of a Choquet integral is a different type integral.

This paper provides a new value (solution concept or allocation rule) of cooperative games via posets induced by graphs. Several values in a graph-restricted communication situation have been proposed or introduced by Myerson, Borm, and Hamiache⋯ However, these values have been subjected to some criticisms in certain types of games. The value proposed in this paper withstands these criticisms. Moreover, these existing values have been defined only in situations represented by undirected graphs, while the notion of the value proposed in this paper can be extended to situations represented by directed graphs.

High definition television (HDTV) video delivery services over IP networks have recently started. To make the delivered high-quality HDTV video comfortable to view, we need to design appropriate delivery systems and then monitor the quality of experience. Currently, subjective assessment is the main method used to quantify video quality. However, it is unsuitable for real time monitoring of video quality. Therefore, we need an objective video quality assessment method that can effectively estimate subjective video quality from the video characteristics. We propose a full-reference-type objective video quality measurement method that is applicable to the evaluation of coding distortions in HDTV. We analyzed the results from applying the conventional method (J.247 Annex A) to HDTV video and improved the conventional method on the basis of those results. We applied fuzzy measure to the conventional method so as to consider the interaction effects of each parameter because the conventional method tends to obtain different characteristics between high quality and low quality regions of video content. © 2009 IEEE.

Identifying fuzzy measures from known partial data using the relative entropy is proposed. We consider an estimation with less relative entropy is better. We also propose the generalizations of λ-fuzzy measure and χ-fuzzy measure which are called (λ, p)-fuzzy measure and generalized χ-fuzzy measure, and show examples of applying our proposed identification to them.
