    <p>The normal incidence-hemispherical reflectances of face masks were measured in the visible to infrared range to discuss their radiative cooling performance. Five masks made of polyester, nylon, cotton, and polypropylene, two underwears and a parasol were discussed in the present study. The polyester-based material was considered to be superior in radiative heat transfer cooling with high reflectance in visible range and high emittance in infrared range. The radiative cooling performance was evaluated by a corrected Figure of Merit (FOM) focused on radiative cooling. Optically characteristic structures, such as periodic structures were not found on the sample surfaces in SEM observations. The spectral radiative properties of cooling masks were defined by optical properties of materials.</p>
