In the field for visual screening, it is difficult task to detect blood vessel regions with high accuracy detection rates since blood vessel regions are in contact with bone region on the CTA images. In this paper, we propose a new method for segmentation of arterial area, which are obtained CTA based on gradient features, and satisfactory experimental results are obtained. Some experimental results are shown with discussion.

© 2014, ISAROB. This paper proposes a method of detecting moving objects using sequential inference of the background in a video taken with a moving camera. In the video taken using a moving camera, all positions of pixels change every frame. The positions of the background pixels in the image frame T are not the same as the positions of the background pixels in the image frame T + 1. 2D projective transform can be used to find changes in the pixel position every frame. Bilinear interpolation with four nearest pixels around the pixel in image frame T which corresponds to a pixel in the image frame T+1 can be used for creating a background model at T + 1. Having obtained the background model, a pixel in image frame T + 1 can be determined if it is a background pixel or a foreground pixel. The detection results of the proposed method are compared with the ground truth to determine the effectiveness of the proposed method.

© 2014 IEEE. A medical image fusion technique provides insight into lesion diagnosis and spatial relationships among anatomical structures. In radiotherapy planning for CyberKnife treatment, for instance, the accurate area being irradiated is determined and calculated based on a fusion image of CT and MR images. Hence the risk of the normal tissues being irradiated could be brought down. However, commonly used mouse-based registration yields variations in the accuracy of the results due to manual operations. In addition, there are some pending issues such as the increased physical burdens to the operators and the requirement for a substantial investment of time. Therefore, in recent years many researches have attempted to automate the registration for multimodality images. In this paper, a CAD (Computer Aided Diagnosis) system is developed to assist radiotherapy planning for CyberKnife treatment. We propose a new automatic image registration technique for image fusion of head CT (Computed Tomography) and MR (Magnetic resonance) images. In our method, the minimization of ratio image uniformity and the maximization of normalized mutual information on VOIs (Volumes Of Interest) are performed based on Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm. We evaluated our proposed method by 5 clinical cases and discussed the accuracy of the registration results with computational time.

Developing of computer aided diagnosis (CAD) system which analyzes the medical image by a computer and provides the doctor as a 'second opinion' the result is becoming increasingly popular. Temporal subtraction technique which is one of the CAD systems supports the observation by performing the differential operation of the current image and the previous one of the same patient and emphasizing temporal changes. Process of registration between images exist in this technique, this accuracy is greatly affects to the temporal difference image. However, registration method adaptable to a variety of images with high accuracy has not been established yet. So in this paper, we propose a three-dimensional non-rigid image registration method generic and high precision based on finite element method (FEM). In the proposed method, in order to improve the high cost is the biggest problem of the FEM, introducing the feature point detection in generating a tetrahedral mesh model. Furthermore, we introduce global matching to achieve an improvement of the execution efficiency. In this paper, we verify the effectiveness by the result applying the model data and 3D thoracic CT Images the proposed method.

© 2014 IEEE. In recent years, technique that estimates the movement of people from images has been studied actively. It is a technique to recognize and understand the intentions of human behaviors, using the results of sensing the state of a person by the time. It is widely applied for example to recognize gesture command of user or to detect suspicious persons using surveillance camera. Moreover, recent studies using Kinect is thriving. Kinect is a device that performs tracking and posture estimation of persons. However, the system has some problems. One of them is that Kinect's tracking system is vulnerable to occlusion. It is necessary to be improved. In this paper, we perform tracking of a person using a particle filter algorithm. We use a feature quantity obtained by combining the color information and depth information as the criteria of the particle filtering. We perform experiments at two situations. And, the results of the proposed method are compared with the results of the conventional method [6] . In certain circumstances, the results indicate that our proposed method is more accurate than the conventional method.

© 2014 IEEE. Image registration is an important and a fundamental task in computer vision and image processing field. For example, to make a surgical plan for head operation, the surgeons should gain more detailed information from CT angiography (CTA) and MR angiography (MRA) images. And the abnormalities can be easily detected from the fusion image which is obtained from two different modalities. One of the multiple modal image registration methods is matching the CTA and MRA, by which the image of head vascular could be enhanced. In general, the procedure for fusion is completed manually. It is time-consuming and subjective. Particularly the anatomical knowledge is required as well. Therefore, the development of automatic registration methods is expected in medical fields. In this paper, we propose a method for high accurate registration, which concentrates the structure of head vascular. We use 2-D projection images and restrict volume of interests to improve the processing affection. In experiments, we performed our proposed method for registration on five sets of CTA and MRA images and a better result from our previous method is obtained.
