A Proposal of an Intuitive Interface for Motion Synthesis using Adjectives Reviewed

In this paper, we propose a motion interpolation method using the parameters based on adjectives. We have conducted a questionnaire experiment where subjects are asked to annotate ten example walking motions using 41 pairs of adjectives. Based on the results, we selected 27 pairs of adjectives that are effective for motion parameterization and determined four primary components by categorizing the adjectives. Our motion interpolation method allows the user to create various styles of motions through the four primary parameters and any combinations of additional adjectives from 27 pairs of them. We present the results of our experiments and demonstrate the advantage of our method.

Suggested by Shepp [Ann. Math. Statist. 36(4) (1965), 1107-1112] we defined a sequence space Λp(f) determined by a single function f(≠ 0) ∈ Lp(R, dx), 1 ≤ p < +∞, and discussed the structure of it. The problems are the linearity and the visible sequential representation of Λp(f). In this paper we name Λp(f) a Shepp space and discuss the problems in the case of p = 2 by defining an inner approximation Λ02(f) and an outer approximation Λφ2(f) of Λ2(f), and we give a necessary and sufficient condition for Λ02(f) = Λφ2(f) in terms of doubling dimension. In this case Λ2(f) is a linear space and those approximationsare its visible sequential representations. We also give an example such that Λ2(f) is a linear space but Λ02(f) ≠ Λφ2(f).

It is necessary for human beings to create "neo-fuzzy" concept in order to facilitate unimpeded communication with machines. The new concept is defined in the non-metric space and acts as a breakthrough for the traditional "fuzzy" concept. This panel discussion may excavate the following subjects; (1) inference, association, analogy and meaning understanding, (2) text understanding, text production, mechanism of communication with linguistic terms, (3) building process of neural networks in the brain which produce/understand "neo-fuzzy" linguistic terms, (4) corresponding mechanism of visual/acoustic Vorstellung to "neo-fuzzy" linguistic terms, (5) memory devices, system architecture, and some other hardware systems peculiar to "neo-fuzzy" information processing, (6) applications of communication with "neo-fuzzy" linguistic terms.

The t-norms are significant operations useful for fuzzy theory. The domains of t-norms are usually the closed interval [ 0, 1 ] or general lattices L . Specific sets except [ 0, 1 ] are rarely used as domains of t-norms. In this article, two-dimensional t-norms defined on the closed unit square [ 0, 1 ] times [ 0, 1 ] and multi-dimensional t-norms are studied. Some examples of them are shown. Moreover the generating functions of them are studied.
