This paper introduces a novel framework for analyzing the uniform structure and topological group properties of measurable spaces with non-additive measures. Unlike traditional approaches that rely on additivity, new concepts, uniformness, K-uniformness, and infra K-uniformness, are defined to establish a pseudo-metric and a topological group structure for non-additive measure algebras. The results demonstrate that these new uniformity conditions allow for a more general treatment of non-additive measures, bridging the gap between classical measure theory and fuzzy measure spaces, focusing on a quasi-monotone measure μ defined on an algebra A⊂P(X). The space (A,μ) is an abelian group under the symmetric difference operation. We define the concepts of uniformness, K-uniformness, and infra K-uniformness for μ, establishing conditions under which (A,μ) becomes a topological group. By constructing a uniform structure and a pseudo-metric on (A,μ), we demonstrate that if μ is K-uniform, it relates closely to subadditive measures through power transformations.

This paper explores interaction operators utilized within the framework of the inclusion and exclusion integral (IE-integral). Specifically, we introduce a novel duality concept for interaction operators and the associative and commutative binary operators (AC-operators) that produce them. These concepts are derived from the conventional duality of set functions through the framework of IE-integrals. Moreover, we reframe IE-integrals and the aforementioned new concepts from the standpoint of discrete derivatives.

Some global analysis for Möbius transforms must be useful in providing certain analysis tools. It may provide some approximation methods, for example, in the analysis of discrete set functions including numerical analysis. A constructive set function was defined as a set function defined on nondiscrete space, the corresponding generalized Möbius transform can be represented as a signed measure. We defined the covering measure for this set function, which dominates the set function value. This set function is a non-negative subadditive set function, and the corresponding function spaces have rich topological properties. On the other hand, there are several approaches to generalize the Möbius transform. We attempt to summarize several of them to provide an axiomatic definition. Using this formulation, we defined the notion of bounded variation for the generalized Möbius transform and provide a covering measure using generalized Jordan decomposition of the Möbius transform.

The useful balance of flexibility and robustness provided by fuzzy integrals for classification and regression tasks has been well established in the fuzzy research community. With the rise of artificial intelligence and neural networks, we have witnessed great advances in data analysis and decision-making, however the issue of explainability has become more prominent in recent times. It is in this regard that the theory of fuzzy integrals and other sophisticated aggregation frameworks have a lot to offer. In this contribution, a neural network architecture is proposed based on the inclusion-exclusion integral, which is defined with respect to a fuzzy measure and a triangular norm. After presenting the model and learning methodology, we provide some applications of the network to real datasets. The key benefit of this approach is in the ability to derive interpretations using the Shapley value and interaction indices, read directly from the model. However, we also highlight the predictive performance, which is comparable with state-of-the-art machine learning techniques. Our study hence contributes to the aims of explainable artificial intelligence, whereby model flexibility and accuracy is achieved without sacrificing interpretability.

We define a constructive non-additive set function as a generalization of a constructively k-additive set function (k∈ N ). First, we prove that a distortion measure is a constructive set function if the distortion function is analytic. A signed measure on the extraction space represents a constructive set function. This space is the family of all finite subsets of the original space. In the case where the support of the measure is included in the subfamily whose element’s cardinality is not more than k, the corresponding set function is constructively k-additive (k∈ N ). For a general constructive set function μ, we define the k-dimensional element of μ, which is a set function, by restricting the corresponding measure on the extraction space to the above subfamily. We extract this k-dimensional element by using the generalized Möbius transform under the condition that σ -algebra is countably generated,

A constructively k-additive set function μ defined on a measurable space (X,B) is represented by using some σ-additive measure μ[k]. In this paper, we define the base measurable space for μ[k] on which μ[k] is uniquely defined. Using this measure, we define the covering measure μ¯ to be useful in the analysis of the measurable space. We elucidate that a measurable set A is a strong μ-null set (μ(B)=μ(B∪C),∀B,∀C⊂A) if and only if μ¯(A)=0. We prove the subadditivity of μ¯ and this follows the linearity and completeness of Lp-spaces with respect to the Choquet and Pan integrals over μ¯. The equivalent classes of these function spaces are given by the relation “to take same value on the complement of a strong μ-null set.”

<p>This paper proposes a new THL bearing design method based on an improved version of a precedent method. The precedent method used a model expression prepared in advance to easily and quickly find a crucial predicted data of the maximum bearing temperature. Three expressions were prepared for three different values of journal eccentricity ratio, 0.25, 0.50, and 0.75. Which one of the three should be used was determined, based on the preliminarily obtained value of journal eccentricity ratio derived from the initially analysis and <i>t</i>–test, for the crucial temperature for any value of journal eccentricity ratio. Furthermore, the new expression explicitly includes the four well-known dimensionless numbers used in THL analysis, that is, Sommerfeld number, bearing width-to-dimeter ratio, Peclet number and Khonsari number. The model expressions for other bearing characteristic performances were obtained in the same way. Compared with some measurements in test rigs of cylindrical bearings, the new improved method is confirmed to predict reasonably accurate bearing performances of cylindrical bearings faster and more easily than the precedent method over a wide range of operating conditions.</p>

While there has been a lot of research attention given to neural networks and other black-box machine learning methods, recent works on aggregation functions and fuzzy sets have highlighted the appeal of incorporating fuzzy integrals into network implementations in order to achieve interpretability. We present an application of the recently proposed inclusion-exclusion integral neural network to the Boston House-Price dataset to illustrate its potential and examine the settings leading to better performance.

In this study, we generalize the concept of the k-order additivity of a set function. First, we discuss the Möbius transform for a non-discrete set function. Next, we generalize the definition of the k-order additivity of a set function using the Möbius transform and provide the equivalent conditions for the k-order additivity. Furthermore, we consider the k-order additivity of the distorted monotone measure. We prove that under certain conditions, a distorted measure is k-order additive if and only if the distortion function is a polynomial of k-th order.
