© 2016 American Automatic Control Council (AACC).This paper focuses on stability of interconnected systems whose connecting channels are exposed to stochastic noises. This class of systems includes interconnected systems whose coupling is brought in only by stochastic noises. Another example is coupling through noisy amplification. This paper shows how to construct Lyapunov functions to verify stability for such a class of systems, and illustrates that the behavior changes drastically when systems involve nonlinearities. Small-gain type criteria are proposed for asymptotic stability, integral input-to-state stability and input-to-state stability. This paper also proposes a unique way to reduce possible conservativeness.

© 2016 American Automatic Control Council (AACC).Scaling of Lyapunov functions is one of effective tools in analyzing and designing dynamical systems from components. Integral input-to-state stability and input-to-state stability are notions which allow one to make use of dissipation inequalities in such modular-based analysis with the help of nonlinear gain which may not be globally defined. Effectively selecting nonlinear scalings is crucial for coping with nonlinearities in components without causing degradation of dissipative properties and their estimates. This paper focuses on scalings for systems which do not admit uniform stability margins and proposes new tools applicable to cases which have not been addressed in the literature. In addition to demonstrating preservation of (i)ISS dissipation inequalities by scaling, this paper illustrates the usefulness of the proposed scaling formulas in analyzing stability of cascaded systems through examples.

For a family of continuous-time nonlinear systems with input, output and disturbances in the case where measurements are available only at discrete instants, a new interval observer design is proposed. The family covers bilinear (and linear) systems with static output feedback as special cases. Employing the structure of Luenberger-type observers, we construct framers that allow us to determine a lower and an upper bounds of state variables in the presence of disturbances, provided that intervals in which uncertain initial conditions and uncertain disturbances lie are known. It is proved that the lower and upper bounds of state variables converge to each other completely when the maximum time interval of measurements is sufficiently small in the absence of disturbances.

The problem of designing interval observers for nonlinear systems exposed to disturbances is addressed in this paper. Intervals in which components of the state vector reside in are estimated by the interval observer consisting of two Luenberger-type observers making use of the information of the range of the initial state and the disturbances. The main feature of the proposed method is to encompass a larger class of nonlinearities than previously existing approaches. This paper demonstrates that an integral input-to-state stability (iISS) framework not only accomplishes this goal, but also provides us with robustness of convergence with respect to the disturbances.

<p>確率リャプノフ関数（SLF)の存在は、確率システムの原点が確率安定であることを保証する。SLFは、その定義からC2であることが要求される。しかし、確率安定な原点を持つ確率システムがC2級のSLFを持たないことがある。そこで、本研究では、SLFの微分可能性を原点でのみ緩和することで、安定性を保証できるシステムが増えることを示す。また、この緩和により、平衡点ではない原点に対してSLFが存在してしまうケースがあることを示し、その安定性について議論する。</p>
